History

As an EPFL engineer, Yves Bolognini has been passionate about the history of computer science for more than twenty years.

Initially a collector, Yves Bolognini founded Musée Bolo in 2002, the first permanent exhibition of this kind in Switzerland.

In 2007, with the help of some of the pioneers of information technology in Switzerland, he created the foundation Mémoires Informatiques, whose main vocation is to safeguard the computer heritage and its history.

The foundation establishes the main orientations of the Museum and takes over its management. In addition, the association Les Amis du Musée Bolo is responsible for the preservation and maintenance of the collections and ensures the animation of the museum.
